Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser

Could you be the next member of the Zoe’s Place fundraising team?    We are looking for a trusts and foundations fundraiser to join our friendly fundraising team. The role will be to secure funding for both our Coventry and Middlesborough hospices and is home based. This role is an opportunity to get involved with a positive and forward-thinking organisation that provides specialist support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.     Overview We’re incredibly proud of our hospices. We provide respite, palliative and end of life care to babies and children from birth to five years old with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses, with our team of specialist nurses offering round-the-clock care and support. We’ve created a safe, caring and fun place, where parents know that their child will receive the best care possible – a home away from home.  In order to continue with our specialist work, we need to ensure the charity continues to raise the funds we need. All job offers are subject to satisfactory DBS check, references and pre-employment checks.   Account manage the trust and foundations fundraising function   
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a comprehensive database for both hospice sites of all relevant grant giving trusts and keep up with changes in the sector.
  • Develop and write applications and bids to a wide range of funders as required.
  • Work with Head of Fundraising and fundraising colleagues to ensure all funding opportunities are maximised
  • Manage and develop relationships with new and existing funding partners.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Clinical Services, clinical teams and finance to prepare bids and reports.
  • Ensure funding partners receive timely and appropriate information about the progress and outcomes of projects including written reports and evaluation in accordance with requirement.
  • Responsible for delivery of income targets.
 

Networking and Representation

  • Ensure excellent relationships are maintained with current, past and prospective funders so the Zoe’s Place Trust name is associated with honesty and high standards of service delivery.
  • Organise visits and tours for trustees if requested to both Middlesbrough and Coventry sites.
  Administration and pipeline
  • Use our fundraising CRM and in line with GDPR to ensure accurate and timely record keeping allowing for good stewardship.
  • Working with an income pipeline / tracker to ensure accurate and timely financial forecasting, identifying risk to income and mitigating accordingly.
  • Ensure activities comply with current law, guidance and best practice of the Fundraising Regulator.
  • Support and cover for other members of the fundraising team when required.
  General and Additional Responsibilities
  • The post holder will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet the business needs of the role for which time off in lieu will be agreed.
  • To comply with all Hospice policies, including but not limited to GDPR compliance, confidentiality and Health & Safety.

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry as a Health care Assistant, or Senior Health Care Assistant, dependent on experience. Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice is a home from home and provides 24 hour short breaks, palliative and end of life care for babies and children up to the age of five years with life-limiting and life threatening complex needs. We are a small team consisting of nurses, health care assistants, play specialists, play leaders, fundraisers, holistic therapists and counsellors. We are looking for a health care assistant with experience looking after children with complex health needs. If you would like to make a difference everyday, then this is the job for you.  

Main duties of the job

As a health care assistant we expect a high level of care for our children. You will need experience with looking after children with complex health needs for example tracheostomy care. You must have excellent communication needs and a passion for working in a team. Full and part time hours available. -Guaranteed to be off for Christmas and new year

Job responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES To work as an integral member of the team, undertaking tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse and/or the Head of Care/Deputy. In the absence of the parent/carer, to assume responsibility for the emotional and physical care of a child with the direction and support of a Registered Nurse. To act as an advocate for a child and their family, supporting their decisions and choices. To act as a role model to all junior care assistants at all times and to provide advice and guidance to them as required thus ensuring that a high standard of care is provided by all the team at all times. Ensure that all children have individualised play during their stay at the hospice. To undertake, assist or supervise individual children, in relation to feeding dressing and toileting, with due regard to the child’s individual medical and developmental needs. Under the guidance of and with the support of a Registered Nurse, to complete clinical competencies to enable clinical care to be carried out independently. Ensure the hospice equipment is used and stored appropriately in accordance with the equipment inventory. Know how to clean and maintain equipment used by children e.g. wheelchairs, feeding pumps etc.as directed by the standard operating procedures for cleaning Ensure that all junior care assistants are aware of the cleaning schedule/work book and alongside the nurse in charge guide junior colleagues so that the hospice is kept clean and tidy. If applicable, care for the child’s clothing and ensure that all clothing is recorded, unpacked and clearly marked.to provide guidance to the junior staff/new staff on the procedures to follow. To ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely record keeping. All documented tasks to be countersigned by a Registered Nurse. Led by a Registered Nurse, to be involved in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care of the children in partnership with the families and the community team. To ensure that all children are given the time and assistance they need in undertaking any activity or intervention whilst encouraging and praising independent skills whenever possible. To ensure that individual children’s care plans are followed to the highest standards. To adhere to Zoe’s Place Trust policies and procedures, guidelines and standards at all times and to promote these to others. Recognise and feedback any changes in child’s condition and where required take appropriate action to support care and treatment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
