Pat would do anything for anyone, you will often see her rushing around trying to fit everything in to her busy day, but she always has time to help and support our hospice.
"I first starting volunteering for Zoë’s baby hospice some 10 years ago, because I live opposite and regularly saw the babies being taken for a walk in their wheel chairs and thought how blessed am I with 3 children and at the time 4 grandchildren (now 8 & 1 great grandchild ) who are all healthy. The hospice is an amazing place that gives so much care & love to the babies and a place that the parents know that when they place their child in their care their child is cherished and cared for with the same attention as they would give. As with most charities funding is a problem so Zoë’s need as many volunteers as possible to help at their fund raising events all through the year. Yes you need time ( although the odd hr helps ) but when you volunteer you get that inner feeling of knowing how fortunate you are and that you are helping to support the hospice. You also get to meet friends and every event is enjoyable to do. The staff & volunteers have great working relationships, you are not just a number, you are a colleague and friend. I would recommend volunteering to everyone, both young & old".
