Fundraising Fundraising news Middlesbrough

On the 8th and 9th of June 2024, a group of friends embarked on a monumental 100km trek across the Lake District. Their goal was to raise £3,000 to be split between Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough and The Don War Memorial Museum. The trek was in memory of Jamie Blagg, their friend who passed away from a stomach infection just days after receiving the joyful news that his leukaemia was in remission. Remarkably, their fundraising efforts have surpassed expectations, with the total now at £6,600 and counting, doubling their original target.

What started as a heartfelt endeavour to honour Jamie’s memory turned into an extraordinary achievement. Not only did the group complete the gruelling challenge, but they also doubled their fundraising target, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of their supporters.

The group’s dedication to raising funds for those in need was palpable throughout their trek. Each donation received became a source of motivation, pushing them forward even when the challenge seemed insurmountable. “We can’t express how thankful we are to the people who dug deep and so generously donated,” said Christopher, a close friend of Jamie’s. “These donations kept us all going when the challenge got difficult.”

The team’s success is a testament to their incredible spirit and determination. Each member put in the extra effort, pushing their limits to accomplish something truly remarkable in memory of Jamie. Their story is not just one of physical endurance but also of the profound impact a community can have when it comes together to make an impact.

At Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, we are immensely grateful for the support from Jamie’s friends. Their efforts not only honour Jamie’s legacy but also provide much-needed funds to support our work. We invite everyone to join in and help us continue providing care and support to babies and their families in need.

To donate or learn more about their inspiring journey, please visit their JustGiving page and follow their updates on Facebook. Together, we can make a significant impact and ensure that Jamie’s legacy lives on through acts of kindness and generosity.
