Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough received a new bundle of advanced tech equipment from a charity that provides life-changing technology.

This new donation continues a longstanding partnership with Lifelites, a charity that has been supporting the hospice for many years.

Lifelites has been working with Zoe’s Place to provide specialised technology that is adaptive to the varied needs of the children. This partnership has enabled the hospice to offer children, regardless of their disabilities, the opportunity to experience high-specification technology that can transform their daily lives.

The magic carpet is one of the new pieces of equipment which offers an immersive experience for the younger children, while eye-gaze technology allows children who can only communicate with their eyes to express themselves vocally for the first time.

The equipment is tailored to support the different needs of the children who attend the hospice. Whether it is providing interactive experiences or giving children the chance to communicate for the first time, this technology opens a world of possibilities.

Lifelites technology will continue to enhance the hospice experience by enabling children to engage in activities that might not be accessible in their home environment.

This will ensure that the children can have enriching experiences that support their emotional and developmental well-being.

Ashleigh Rickards, Deputy Head of Care at Zoe’s Place said: “We are so thankful to Lifelites for providing this equipment. The diversity of the equipment, that we have been lucky to receive, is amazing. From the magic carpet enabling an immersive experience for our babies to eye gaze that enables our children that can communicate with their eyes the opportunity to communicate out loud for the first time.”

The continued support from Lifelites has made a significant difference in the lives of the children at Zoe’s Place. The equipment enables personalised, meaningful experiences and paves the way for an even brighter future for the children and families who rely on the hospice’s care.
