Redcar and Cleveland Mayor Announces Farewell Fundraiser
The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Cllr Neil Bendelow, selected Zoe’s Place Middlesbrough as one of his two chosen charities to support for his year as Mayor.
The glittering evening promises to be one of the highlights of the year, coinciding with the final months of his term in office.
The ball will raise funds for two local charities, with Zoe’s Place Middlesbrough being one of the key beneficiaries. Zoe’s Place provides specialist palliative care for babies and children with life-limiting conditions, and the Mayor’s selection of this charity demonstrates his ongoing commitment to supporting vital community-driven causes.
Mayor Bendelow’s involvement with Zoe’s Place extends beyond the ball, as he has held many fundraising events throughout the year to support the hospice, including taking part in the popular annual Boxing Day Dip. This winter tradition, where participants plunge into the icy waters of Redcar beach, has been a significant charity fundraiser for many years, which the community get involved with.
As the Mayor prepares for his final months in office, he is keen to ensure that the community’s generosity continues to benefit local charities.
Cllr Bendelow said: “The Mayor’s Charity Ball on Saturday, 12th April at Gisborough Hall will be my last major fundraising event of my year in office. I hope that everyone can support the evening to raise as much money as possible. If you can attend or donate a prize it would be very much appreciated. Zoe’s Place is a fantastic local charity, and we need to support all the good work it does”.
The Mayor’s Ball promises an evening of entertainment, fine dining, and dancing. All funds raised will go directly to supporting Zoe’s Place and another local cause.
