We loved hosting our annual summer event in Middlesbrough. The weather held out, and families enjoyed a day packed with fun and excitement.

The event featured a variety of activities and special guests, ensuring there was something for everyone. Kids loved the donkey rides with Blackberry Donkeys, with one parent sharing, “Thank you to all the staff for such a lovely day, Thomas loved the donkey rides and owls.” The Durham Birds of Prey captivated attendees with their majestic owls, providing a unique and educational experience.

Elsa from Frozen brought magic and wonder, delighting our younger guests, while the bouncy castles provided endless entertainment for the children. The Twilight Teepee created a cosy, enchanting space for families to relax together. Ayton Beats kept everyone dancing with their lively tunes, and Saddle Up and Dough offered delicious treats that satisfied everyone’s taste buds. Caremark’s therapy dogs brought smiles to many faces, showcasing the incredible bond between humans and their furry friends.

We were honoured to have the Mayor join us for the day, bringing with him a generous donation of £1,000 from Commsave Credit Union. As one of the Mayor’s chosen charities, we deeply appreciate their support. This contribution will go a long way in helping us continue our work.

Feedback from the families was overwhelmingly positive. One family expressed, “We had an amazing time, thank you for hosting us,” while another said, “We had the best time, thank you so much, and thanks for making it so special.” Many families appreciated the opportunity to spend quality time together and connect with others, as one family noted, “We had a lovely day, it was so nice to spend time together as a family and meet lots of the other families who attend Zoe’s Place.”

A big thank you goes out to all our volunteers and staff. Your hard work and dedication made this day special for everyone. One family summed it up perfectly: “Thank you everyone for a lovely day, we had a fabulous time as always.”

Looking back on the day, we’re grateful for the sense of community and support at Zoe’s Place Hospice. We look forward to more events like this, bringing families together to create wonderful memories. Thank you once again to everyone who made this day possible – your contributions are deeply appreciated.
