Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice are delighted with the record-breaking amount raised from the popular annual Santa Ride organised by the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group.

Now in its 19th year, the Boundary 500 Santa Ride has become a beloved tradition in the region. The event consists of riders dressed as Santa and covering their bikes in festive decorations to take part in a 22 mile motorcycle ride across Teesside.

The ride raised an astounding £36,733.04. This generous contribution will go directly towards supporting the crucial care provided to the babies and families at Zoe’s. The event’s success is a testament to the incredible support from the public, sponsors, and participants.

Rachael Bareham, Events Fundraiser at Zoe’s Place Middlesbrough said: “We are truly overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who took part in the Santa Ride. The funds raised will make a huge difference to the families we care for, and it’s heart warming to see such an outpouring of support from the community. We can’t thank the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group, all the riders, local councillors and police, people who attended the event enough for their ongoing commitment.”

Brian Laverick, founder of the event said: “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing generosity shown by everyone involved in this ride. It’s not just a motorcycle event; it’s a community tradition that has made a real difference to the families we support.”

The event celebrated its amazing amount raised on Saturday 15th March where special recognition was also given to Sharon Westcough and June Lees, who raised the highest amounts of sponsorship £1,888.04 and £1,553.

Over the years, they’ve raised a combined total of over £27,000 for the event.

To date, the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group has raised over £400,000 for Zoe’s Baby Hospice through the Santa Ride alone, with their total fundraising across all events now surpassing £900,000.

The next Boundary 500 Santa Ride is set for Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, and we look forward to seeing even more riders and Santa’s spreading holiday cheer for a great cause.
